Money comes with the wind, but you need a bag to catch it. When my friend challenged me to repeat this saying, I realized the deeper meaning. The wind represents opportunities that come naturally, but without the right container - your business or skills - you can only catch a little bit.
Let me tell you my story. In October 2019, I started my own advertising business, doing print work like signs, flyers, and business cards. I invested three thousand dollars in equipment. But then December came, and you know what happened - the pandemic hit, followed by three years of lockdowns. By all logic, I should have failed.
Then came the turning point. I was browsing our community chat group when I saw parents complaining that their kids didn't have physical textbooks for online classes. They were worried this would affect their children's learning. At first, I didn't pay much attention, but the next day at my shop, it suddenly hit me - I could print textbooks for them!
I immediately got to work. I found digital versions of textbooks for different grades online, printed them on regular A4 paper in black and white, double-sided, then bound them with a stapler. I took a photo and posted it in the community group, pricing each book at twenty dollars. Orders started pouring in immediately. The next day, other communities heard about it and came to buy. I was making over two thousand dollars in daily sales!
