Meet Silly Sally and her silly dog! They live in a colorful town with bright buildings and love to play together. Sally is a cheerful girl who enjoys silly games, and her dog is always ready for fun adventures. Today, they're going to show us some very special ways of moving and playing!
Now let's watch Sally and her dog play leapfrog! In traditional leapfrog, one player crouches down low while the other player runs up and jumps over them. Then they move forward and switch roles. Watch as the dog crouches down first, then Sally jumps over him, and they continue moving in the forward direction. The green arrow shows they are moving forward, which is the normal way to play leapfrog.
Now comes the silly part! Instead of moving forward like in normal leapfrog, Sally and her dog decide to leap backwards. Look at the difference - the green arrow shows the normal forward direction, but the red arrow shows their new silly backward direction. This is the opposite of what we expect! They still crouch and jump over each other, but now they move in the backward direction instead of forward. This makes their game much more silly and unusual!
Now we need to understand what 'upside down' means! Look at the top of the screen - this shows Sally and her dog in their normal orientation, with heads up and feet down. But look at the bottom - this is what upside down looks like! Their heads are now pointing down and their feet are pointing up. Everything is flipped! The gray reference lines help us see how the orientation has completely changed. When they play leapfrog backwards AND upside down, they maintain this flipped orientation while moving in the backward direction.
Now let's see the complete picture! At the top, we have normal leapfrog - the characters are right-side up with heads pointing up, and they move forward in the green arrow direction. At the bottom, we have Silly Sally's way - the characters are upside down with heads pointing down, and they move backward in the red arrow direction. This combines three spatial concepts: the leapfrog game mechanics, the backward movement direction, and the upside-down orientation. All these elements together create the silly, unusual way that Sally and her dog play! This story teaches us about spatial relationships, directions, and orientations in a fun and memorable way.
