Meet Dino, a curious dinosaur who loves to explore! One sunny day, Dino discovers a perfectly round pond. Little does Dino know, this pond will teach him about one of mathematics most important numbers: Pi!
Dino is very curious about the size of this pond! First, Dino measures straight across the pond from one side to the other. This distance is called the diameter. Next, Dino carefully walks all the way around the edge of the pond. This distance around the circle is called the circumference.
Dino has made an incredible discovery! When Dino divides the circumference by the diameter, the answer is always the same magical number, no matter how big or small the circle is! This special number is called Pi, written with the Greek letter π. Pi is approximately equal to 3.14159, but it actually goes on forever with no repeating pattern!
Dino decides to test this discovery with different circles! Dino measures small dinosaur eggs, medium-sized rocks, and even imagines measuring the huge full moon in the sky. Amazingly, no matter how big or small the circle is, when you divide the circumference by the diameter, you always get the same answer: Pi! This makes Pi a truly universal constant that works for every circle in the universe.
And so, Dino's amazing adventure comes to an end! Dino discovered that Pi is a magical number that appears in every circle, no matter how big or small. Pi equals approximately 3.14159, and it's found by dividing any circle's circumference by its diameter. Now whenever Dino sees circles - in pizza slices, bicycle wheels, or even the sun and moon - Dino remembers this wonderful mathematical discovery.
