Electric charge is the fundamental property of matter that experiences a force when placed in an electromagnetic field. There are two types of electric charge: positive charge carried by protons, and negative charge carried by electrons. Opposite charges attract each other, while like charges repel.
Electric current is the flow of electric charge through a conductor, measured in Amperes. Current equals charge divided by time. In metals, electrons actually flow from the negative terminal to the positive terminal, but by convention, current direction is defined as flowing from positive to negative.
